This weeks blog post is about Bailey and I’s adventures with water. This picture is of Bailey about to go Paddle Boarding in the morning. Although it’s not the warmest out and the water isn’t going to be warm either we decided it was going to be worth it. The water was very peaceful this morning and we actually spotted some seals. This morning was one of the bests I had had in a while (because I am not a morning person) but it was beautiful and I loved it. We went out in the water and just laid on our boards and talked for a while. Now after we were done with this paddle out we came in and decided to go get some nice coffee and a little breakfast. If you have never been paddle boarding I encourage you to get out there! Grab a couple boards and some friends and just float.
Going to the beach is one of my favorite things to do in my free time, but sometimes the water in just a little to cold to go in. But luckily for us there are so many other things you can do at the beach then go in the water. Since we decided we didn’t want to freeze in the water we brought a volleyball and soccer ball so play around with. We started off playing a little soccer by passing around and kicking it off the wall at butterfly beach, and then some people asked to join and we had a little soccer game. After that we decided to play volleyball with we aren’t the best at but decided it was still going ti be fun. Once we were tired and sweating because of all the running in the hot sun we wanted to take a quick dip to cool off, and after we cooled down from the water we decided to relax for the rest of the time and just tan which to us is a usual beach activity and cannot leave without doing a little tanning.
Now I know that these aren’t waves and the ocean but I just thought that this was to beautiful not to post. These pictures were taken on a hike in Mammoth that was unreal and like nothing I had ever seen. There was still snow all on the the ground and it was not warm at all. But we thought hat it would be worth the freeze, and it was.The waterfall was unlike anything we’ve even seen and it was amazing the beauty that we had no idea existed. Mammoth is such an amazing place that is fun and pretty during the winter and summer and you should try to get up there to hike and mountain bike, or go snowboarding and skiing with family and friends:)
The Santa Barbara Harbor is an amazingly beautiful place that everyone should visit. It is full of all different boats and so many people spend a lot of time here. I do not have a boat but luckily my friends do. This day Bailey and her friends decided that she wanted to spend the night on this boat so we did. Earlier this day we had gone on walks don the beach and went out on the water which is a whole other experience. The water is so blue and very cold. But this day it was hot and we wanted to go for a swim. Once we got back in the boat we dried off and just looked at Santa Barbara from the water and how pretty it was. We stayed on the water for about an hour and a half and saw a lot of seals and dolphins. When we got back we changed into different clothes and went to go get some dinner at the harbor. If you have never been to the harbor, there are so many restaurants to go to and so many unique choices. My favorites are sushi go go which has amazing sushi and is fast and cheap, and on the alley which ha amazing fish and chips! So once we had gotten dinner we headed back to the boat and got ready for bed. We had a lot of blankets because it gets very cold down by the water and some snacks and a movie playing. We stayed there overnight and it was an amazing experience. Just being out of the house for a day and experiencing all of the beautiful places in Santa Barbara is such an amazing way to spend your day and just get out into nature. For Bailey she we are trying to do this as much as possible before she leaves, because she will not have the ocean or me there, so we want to spend as much time together as we can while having a great time and adventuring around SB. If you have not been to the Harbor or on one of the boats there I recommend that you do because it is another way to look at the beauty in Santa Barbara in a new way.
This is the post to start the countdown to Bailey leaving for college. Last weekend my family decided that we would drive up to San Jose to see my sister and cousins. We were a little excited except for the long drive that was going to come with it. So we got in the car and drove up to San Jose. The drive started off really good we played some fun games, watched some movies but after 2 hours we weren’t having a lot of fun. We tried all different car games and played some cards and board games but we really just wanted to be there already. After about 4 and a half hours we arrived in San Jose and couldn’t be happier.
When we got there my sister Lauren told us about an amazing beach in Santa Cruz about an hour away. We figured we might as well since we are already here. So we got in the car again and drove up to Santa Cruz. We got to Sunny Cove Beach and it was amazing. We walked on the beach and got some ice cream and stayed for about an hour or two. We walked on this edge of this cliff and and saw a cool enclosed spot and went to it. None of us were wearing bathing suits and and did not expect to get wet… but Bailey did. It started off by me just taking a couple pictures of her by the water and get the splashing waves in front of her. The next thing that happened no one was expecting. We continued to take photos and saw a wave coming, it didn’t look very big when we first saw it so we continued to take pictures, but when the wave got closer and closer we realized that Bailey might be getting a little wet.
When it happened Bailey was not excited to be soaking wet while we drive all the way home, but after she dried we could laugh about the whole thing and were just excited that I captured the event. We figured since we were going to be on the road for another hour we should do something else fun so we found a great doughnut place and stopped there for a little bit. This trip may have not ended the way we expected/wanted but was a very fun trip and suggest that you go and visit if you can!
