Caving In Countdown:147

This is one of my favorites spots to go with friends and family. It is a cave with a view of a creek and a forest of trees. The cave is spray painted with all different things that people made and liked. We brought our own spray paint and drew some of our own stuff and had a lot of fun together, dancing, talking and just relaxing. We love this place because no body really knows where it is so we are able to be here lone and just be with each other and not having to worry about other people. Just being with each other and making the most of the time we still have left together and can’t take the time we ave for granted, but love every moment that w have left before Bailey leaves for college.

This day started off with Bailey and I wanting to go for a drive and take some photos. We brought some food and drinks and drove around for a while and found this place. We brought a blanket and a speaker and just sat and talked for a while. One of my favorites things to do with my sister is just drive around and finding beautiful places to just admire and just spend time together.

Bailey and I always want to find new things together especially things she won’t be able to do when she leaves for college. Bailey is going to Wheaton which is is in Chicago. There is a lot of snow so we always go to the beach and on hikes during the winter… just showing how amazing Santa Barbara is.

The cave looks over the trees but also a path that follows all the way through this place and ends with another cave under a bridge and continues to places that we have yet to explore.

There are so many places in Santa Barbara that could be a place you would love to hang out. Go for a drive and look around and you may find the perfect place to be with friends and family and even time to relax by yourself.

The Meadow Countdown:150

IMG_4982IMG_4986IMG_4987IMG_4968

This was the beginning of our adventure and decided to snap a couple photos. This wall looks over the whole meadow and a bunch of trees and houses as well. This meadow is actually behind a lot of houses and on the other side of a  meadow that was featured on my Instagram. This wall is on the side of the road which was very funny to see people watching us take photos but we laughed and had a very fun time. After we were done taking these photos we went to see what the meadow looked like and wanted to go explore. We saw a path leading over a hill and had to see what was there.

Once we made it over the hill we found flowers and flowers everywhere. But the path didn’t stop there… and neither did we. The path ran all the way over a creak and into another meadow. We came back to explore this new meadow and found a tree to hang out hammock and just laid there and relaxed. We got a little tired form all the “exploring” and we had to find some shade. Just relaxing together is something we try to do every week just to talk and unwind from our weeks or school and sports. We talk about life, boys, school, how the week is, sports and so much more and talk about it for hours and usually lose track of time and just forget about our lives outside of the meadow and all the panic and drama and just have a good time while we still can together.

This week Bailey and I went for a drive and found a meadow that was full of tall grass and flowers. This location was not far from our house and and we decided to spend a couple hours and walked around. We had to walk a little ways to get there but it was all worth it. We found this place that was completing empty and had it all to ourselves. We danced and ran and played music and it was so relaxing and peaceful. We ended up adventuring some more finding amazing trees and plants and a stream. We followed the stream down and found a bridge and a bench and stayed there for a little bit. When we walked back up to our flowers we found nice place in the sun and just laid down and talked and it was amazing and its one of the things I’m going to miss most when my sister leaves for college.

We found this grass and originally didn’t think we were going to lay in it but when my sister pushed me and I fell I just didn’t want to get up.. so we decided we would stay here for a little. The grass was soft, long and plush so we were very comfortable and didn’t want to leave. Even though it was very hot the grass was cold and was a perfect place to stay, even though we would end getting very itchy, it was worth it. We laid here, took some pictures, listened to One direction and just relaxed and didn’t worry about anything else. If you find yourself stressedouot and worry about everything going on in life then just take a friend and go for a drive, find your own little spot to just lay down, talk and just be with each other.

This weeks blog post is about Bailey and I’s adventures with water. This picture is of Bailey about to go Paddle Boarding in the morning. Although it’s not the warmest out and the water isn’t going to be warm either we decided it was going to be worth it. The water was very peaceful this morning and we actually spotted some seals. This morning was one of the bests I had had in a while (because I am not a morning person) but it was beautiful and I loved it. We went out in the water and just laid on our boards and talked for a while. Now after we were done with this paddle  out we came in and decided to go get some nice coffee and a little breakfast. If you have never been paddle boarding I encourage you to get out there! Grab a couple boards and some friends and just float.

Going to the beach is one of my favorite things to do in my free time, but sometimes the water in just a little to cold to go in. But luckily for us there are so many other things you can do at the beach then go in the water. Since we decided we didn’t want to freeze in the water we brought a volleyball and soccer ball so play around with. We started off playing a little soccer by passing around and kicking it off the wall at butterfly beach, and then some people asked to join and we had a little soccer game. After that we decided to play volleyball with we aren’t the best at but decided it was still going ti be fun. Once we were tired and sweating because of all the running in the hot sun we wanted to take a quick dip to cool off, and after we cooled down from the water we decided to relax for the rest of the time and just tan which to us is a usual beach activity and cannot leave without doing a little tanning.

Now I know that these aren’t waves and the ocean but I just thought that this was to beautiful not to post. These pictures were taken on a hike in Mammoth that was unreal and like nothing I had ever seen. There was still snow all on the the ground and  it was not warm at all. But we thought hat it would be worth the freeze, and it was.The waterfall was unlike anything we’ve even seen and it was amazing the beauty that we had no idea existed. Mammoth is such an amazing place that is fun and pretty during the winter and summer and you should try to get up there to hike and mountain bike, or go snowboarding and skiing with family and friends:)

This week I decided top do a little throwback to my families road trip up the coast. This trip was over a span of one week of my and Family and I driving from Santa Barbara to Seattle. Once we made it to Seattle we wasted no time to go see the amazing city. This destination was the gum wall in Seattle Washington. This gum wall was right by the market and right at the water, We stayed here for a couple hours getting some great lunch and even going shopping.

After we explored the city a little and had our lunch we say a Ferris wheel right over the water and decided to go. This Ferris at one point has you all the way over the water and my sister and brother almost didn’t come on with me. It took us up super high with a view of the city and the market we were just at. It also gave an amazing view of the ocean and all the boats in the harbor and I would love to do it again.

This photo is of a waterfall on a hike in Oregon. We found this hike on our way home and decided to take a little stop and check it out. We saw 3 waterfalls and this was the second one. We saw one at the beginning of our hike and one at the end. When we got to the one at the end of our hike we found pool of water and wanted to go go for a little cool down swim. It was cold but super fun and was an amazing place like I’ve never seen.

This photo is captured of the hillside in Oregon taking int he view. We stopped here with some friends we were staying with and they said they had a nice place we could all go, they took us here. This was before Bailey was committed to Wheaton College and she was looking at George Fox. Te drive up to Oregon was beautiful with unreal views and towns and I hope you can see it some day.

The Santa Barbara Harbor is an amazingly beautiful place that everyone should visit.   It is full of all different boats and so many people spend a lot of time here. I do not have a boat but luckily my friends do. This day Bailey and her friends decided that she wanted to spend the night on this boat so we did. Earlier this day we had gone on walks don the beach and went out on the water which is a whole other experience. The water is so blue and very cold. But this day it was hot and we wanted to go for a swim. Once we got back in the boat we dried off and just looked at Santa Barbara from the water and how pretty it was. We stayed on the water for about an hour and a half and saw a lot of seals and dolphins. When we got back we changed into different clothes and went to go get some dinner at the harbor. If you have never been to the harbor, there are so many restaurants to go to and so many unique choices. My favorites are sushi go go which has amazing sushi and is fast and cheap, and on the alley which ha amazing fish and chips! So once we had gotten dinner we headed back to the boat and got ready for bed. We had a lot of blankets because it gets very cold down by the water and some snacks and a movie playing. We stayed there overnight and it was an amazing experience. Just being out of the house for a day and experiencing all of the beautiful places in Santa Barbara is such an amazing way to spend your day and just get out into nature. For Bailey she we are trying to do this as much as possible before she leaves, because she will not have the ocean or me there, so we want to spend as much time together as we can while having a great time and adventuring around SB. If you have not been to the Harbor or on one of the boats there I recommend that you do because it is another way to look at the beauty in Santa Barbara in a new way.
